Even though the picture makes the yarn look blue, this is purple. This is one of my original designs, The Knotty Cable Cardi (Ver. 2.0) After scrutinizing the original design, I thought I’d change the shape, instead of a “swing” with a loose fit and a bit of a flare at the waist, I refined the body shape and made it close-fitting, hugging the waist, BUT GUESS WHAT? I like the original design better!
Now don’t get me wrong, I’ll have plenty of designs that hug your curves and accentuate the positive, but this cardi looks better with a bit of movement around the middle, allowing the cables more freedom, and best done in a lighter color to emphasize the shadows of the cables.

Oh! I love that shaping, you should include both!!!
This one is my fav of the two. It would look better on my proportions. What about selling both patterns together??? It's a great advantage to be able to give alterations or suggestion differences - different ways to approach the same item (cardi, bag, whatever). Go for both Pam!
Amazing how small changes can make big differences! I like them both, but in different ways! I must say, the model wearing the red one has a lot more personality than the purple model. ;-D
Beautiful purple original design! Congratulations, Pam!
Thanks for the link to Purple Haze, I´ve enjoyed reading it!
Pam, it's lovely. Both designs have their merits. Yay, purple! It's not just for old ladies anymore as proven by your very hip cardi.
It's taken me awhile to comment thinking about the "version 1 vs. version 2" issue.
I spent hours debating it...not to mention the whole "purple is hip now" element. I could not understand my inability to decide which version is better.
Then it hit me...it's a woman's sweater and I'd look like a lunatic wearing either one.
Both cable-opening sweaters are gorgeous, Pam. I do prefer the swing-coat version though.....I don't have a figure anymore, and the swing is my preferred cover-up! Both colors are faboo too!
Love the Knotty Cable Cardi and the color is definitely the rage this season.
